How River Ridge Builders Got Started
Ed Navarro spent over 10 years building homes from the ground up in California before moving to Lake Havasu City in 1993. He didn't come here as a developer or an investor. He came to build. He got his Arizona contractor's license (ROC #B-151956), started River Ridge Builders, and went to work.
Back then, Lake Havasu was a different town. A lot of the older homes in the central part of the city still ran on septic systems with leach fields. The terrain was rougher, the infrastructure was thinner, and finding skilled tradespeople meant building your own network from scratch. Ed did exactly that. Over three decades, he assembled a crew of subcontractors, suppliers, and specialists who know Lake Havasu construction inside and out.
Today, River Ridge Builders has 2,000+ homes built in Lake Havasu City since 1993, including 200+ fully custom builds. We're approved builders in The Refuge and The Riviera. We've built on flat desert pads, steep hillside lots in The Foothills, and everything in between. The company is still family-owned. Ed runs it with his son, Ed Jr., and a small team that handles operations, client relations, and project management.
We're members of the Lake Havasu Area Chamber of Commerce, BBB A+ Accredited, and licensed with the Arizona Registrar of Contractors (ROC #B-151956). Every home comes with a 1-year cosmetic warranty and a 2-year structural warranty. No corporate layers. No out-of-town management. The people who plan your home are the same people who build it.
Meet Our Team
Ed Navarro
President
Ed started building homes in California in the early 1980s. Framing, finish work, site management. He learned the trade hands-on before there were YouTube tutorials or prefab kits. In 1993 he moved to Lake Havasu City and started River Ridge Builders. He's held Arizona contractor license ROC #B-151956 since day one. Over 30 years later, we have 2,000+ homes built in Lake Havasu City since 1993, including 200+ fully custom builds. Ed still walks job sites daily and signs off on every project. He and his family have lived in Lake Havasu for over 30 years.
Ed Navarro, Jr.
Operations
Ed Jr. grew up on construction sites. Literally. He was handing his dad tools before he could drive. That hands-on background shows in how he runs day-to-day operations. He coordinates crews, manages schedules, and makes sure every project stays on timeline and on budget. When he's not on a job site, he's traveling with his wife or out on the lake.
Jose Romero
Operations
Jose has been with River Ridge Builders for nearly 8 years. He works directly with subcontractors and manages on-site construction progress. He's built strong relationships with the local trades in Lake Havasu, which keeps projects running without the delays that come from working with unfamiliar crews. Outside of work, Jose spends time with his family and is known around the office for his cooking.

Jeff Kelsheimer
Client Relations / Technology
Jeff handles client communication and the technology side of the business. Real-time build tracking, photo updates, project management tools. He makes sure clients always know where their project stands without having to chase anyone down. When he's not working, you'll find him on the water, on the trails, or somewhere in the desert with his family.

Why Local Experience Matters When Building in Lake Havasu
Lake Havasu City has building conditions that out-of-town contractors aren't set up to handle. Here's what we manage on every project.
HOA Design Review
Refuge submissions are due by the 25th of each month. Miss it and you wait another 30 days. The Riviera has separate covenants across seven neighborhoods. We handle all of it.
Desert Climate Engineering
Foundations, HVAC, and materials spec'd for 120 degree summers and monsoon flash flooding. Not moderate climate defaults.
Local Building Codes
Mohave County permitting, setback requirements, lot coverage ratios. 30 years of knowing what passes inspection.
Drainage & Site Conditions
Sandy washes, rocky hillsides, and soil that shifts block to block. We engineer for what's actually under your lot.
Proudly Serving
We build custom homes in Lake Havasu City's most desirable communities. Each one has different lot conditions, design guidelines, and HOA requirements. We know them all from years of building in them.
