The garage bay is then integrated into the home's architecture. On a single-story home, the RV garage typically sits on one end with the living areas on the other, connected by a breezeway or utility corridor. On multi-level designs, the garage can sit below the main living floor.
Structural engineering is different from a standard garage. High-clearance trusses span the wider bay without interior columns. The foundation slab is thicker and reinforced for vehicles that weigh 15,000 to 30,000 pounds. Garage doors use commercial-grade openers rated for daily use on 14 to 16 foot openings.
